Almaty, Kazakhstan 1998

1998 a trip to Almaty, Kazakhstan

During his trip to Almaty in 1998 Helmut was glad to meet so many people from different backgrounds at a 10 day seminar for Auxiliary Board Members, along with Baha'i friends from 14 republics of the former USSR.

To see the friends give their energy and service to the beloved faith after all these years of solitude was a beautiful experience.

After the seminar Helmut went to Bishkek, the capital of Kirgisistan, to support their projects.

With the years of the Perestrojka many new Baha'i communities came into existence in the Republics of the CIS. Also old communities that existed in Central Asia already before the October Revolution could reformat and revive.

Meeting the friends at the Opening of the International Teaching Center in Haifa in January 2001 was a great joy!

Here is a map of Central Asia accentuating the cities Olga and Helmut lived in or visited.

The family's travels become family history

Throughout the past years our family experienced many blessings, numerous challenges turned into opportunities to experience God's guidance.

Work and Hobby

In 1986 Helmut worked as a programmer with the Siemes system "S5" in the automation of transport systems, first at BMW Dingolfing and then at a factory in Mogilev (as seen in the picture to the left). When we arrived in Mogilev Janis was 3-month and Jana 2-years old. There we stayed almost 1 1/2 years.
