Every Bahá'í believer can tell his own story of the development of the Faith, especially when he was/is part of it. Each has his own unique spiritual experience. At the moment when one realizes the existence of his soul and the necessity to care for it, meet its real needs, for many people begins their endless path of believing.
In March 1989 Helmut together with the honored Mr. Huschang Peseschkian, a member of the Bahá'í community of Mainz, visited on request of the Universal House of Justice the following cities: Moscow, Ashkhabad and Dushanbe. Due to the war in Azerbaijan our visa to Baku was denied.
The aim of the trip was to find friends, meet them, deliver to them the love and greetings of the Bahá'í World Center, to share with them the news from the worldwide Bahá'í community and to unify them. Also we planned to help with the development and expansion of the Bahá'í faith in the countries, since with Gorbatshov and the Perestrojka religious freedom was granted.
The trip lasted 14 days during the blessed fasting period. In order to not to visit the Russian speaking friends empty handed, Olga and Helmut created different slide shows in Russian and translated prayers and quotations of the Holy Writings.
An account of this trip is placed in the Russian translation of this web site.
