Time passes by and we don't realize how our children grow up and are fledged (we say in German: flügge).
This is what we expected least from Janis, our youngest child. About 6 months ago he fell in love and changed all his life aiming at meeting Asmaa. Finally all parents agreed and the circumstances for the trip were quite fortunate.
On the 3rd of March Janis went from Cologne to Cairo to meet Asmaa and her family. Asmaa's parents are Baha'i and have 3 wonderful children. Asmaa is the second child. She studies music. She also probably never imagined to fall in love with Janis, a guy from Germany. We hope that they found their happiness beyond all boundaries!
Asmaa and Janis got engaged on the 7th of March in the close circle of Asmaa's family. This news made us very happy, it's the beginning of a new family's life.
Janis is still getting used to the life in Cairo. A huge city, too many new things, new environment, new Arabic culture. But the love and sympathy of Asmaa and her family make him happy.
We hope that overcoming such obstacles as getting the many documents for the wedding, their translations and other necessities will be no trouble for them. And that there will soon be a wedding for us to attend and celebrate!!!
We are very thankful to Asmaa's parents for taking on the responsibility of supporting and guiding the young couple and for helping them start their new mutual life beautifully and with grandeur.
We wish Janis and Asmaa all the best, a lot of patience and love for each other.
